No Honor Amongst IP Thieves

It seems that Apple isn’t the only company that worries about their intellectual property being stolen in China. Renowned intellectual property thieves Chinese tech development company, Heiner, is getting a taste of their own medicine and fighting back. Heiner, whose HaiPad is a clear imitation of the Apple iPad, are making efforts to ward off fellow fakers and protect their already questionable branding.

    Beijing Man Drops a Fortune to Game on Asia’s Largest TV (UPDATE: Video!)

    Last night in Beijing, a man known only as “Fire” rented Asia’s largest LED television screen for a 10 minute online gaming session. The “Sky Screen” is an open air screen located at a shopping mall in downtown Beijing, and is 250 meters long and 30 meters wide. That’s 7500 square meters of screen, for anyone not in to numbers. The crazy thing is that Fire paid RMB 4500 (US $678) to play….PER MINUTE!

It seems that Chinese manufacturers have gotten sick of the million other names they’ve been naming their Shanzhai iProducts (aPad, HiPad, etc) and have begun a new trend. The creators of the DroiPad also added a bit of a twist to their tablet.
