China To Surpass Japan In Research & Development Spending

China hasn’t always been the most “innovative” when it comes to tech, but according to the people smarter than I at Battelle R&D Magazine they’re throwing some serious money at the issue. R&D Magazine has projected that China will overtake Japan on the list of countries with the largest Gross Domestic Expenditures on Research & Development (GERD), with a whopping 153.7 MILLION BILLION US DOLLARS. This puts China second only to the US in R&D, but unfortunately it seems that most of the funds are set aside to develop manufacturing technology. As if they need more factories…
