Introducing the Gooapple G22: The Unholy Spawn of Google and Apple (Video)
We’ve seen plenty of Shanzhai gimmicks over the years but this is by far the most disturbing yet. It’s Gooapple’s G22 phone, and it’s basically the spawn of Satan’s attempt at creating a phone. As a pretty serious Android fan I’m feeling a bit quezy looking at the combination of both my favorite and most despised tech icons (although that could just be lunch). The designers didn’t put much thought into what my feelings would be on the phone’s branding, but they have actually put some thought in to it’s specs. At the end of the day though, the best thing about the G22 is it’s mind blowing boot up intro.
If you can’t tell from the picture above, Gooapple’s G22 phone is basically an iPhone 4 clone in terms of design. Only a few specs have been released so far, including its 5MP rear facing camera and 1.3MP front facing camera. It’s also got GPS capabilities and a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with a max resolution of 480*320.
It will supposedly run on a 460Mhz MTK6516 chip and a Vanilla install of Android 2.2 Froyo according to GizChina, except for the mind blowing boot up intro that you can check out below.
Expect an April 10th release with the reasonable price of RMB 999 (USD $153).
