Meizu M9II Photo Released, Officially Renamed The Meizu MX

Jack Wong, CEO of Meizu, has released a teaser photo of the long anticipated Meizu M9II which has now been renamed to the Meizu MX. MX is apparently short for “Meng Xiang” (梦想) which means “Dream” in English. Mr. Wong also announced that the 16GB MX will have a price tag of RMB3580 (~US$ 550), a massive increase over the original M9′s RMB2,699 (~US$ 413) price tag. You can chalk that up to some pretty great specs, some of which have already been released.

The previously announced specs include a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with 960×640 resolution, 1GB RAM and ROM, an A9 dual-core CPU all packed in to a 63.5 x 119 x 9.5 mm case. Jack Wong has also confirmed that the MX will come with HDMI and coaxial digital audio outputs making it the perfect all-around media device. But do these specs really make it worth the RMB3580 (~US$ 550) price tag?

Still no exact release date yet, but Jack Wong has said that we can expect to see the MX sometime later this year
