Honeycomb only recently hit the market with the release of the Motorola Xoom, and Chinese manufacturers have been quick to proclaim they’ll be soon releasing Android 3.0 tablets of their own. It seemed as though Android 2.3 would be completely skipped, until we saw this.

We’ve seen plenty of dual-boot OS Shanzhai phones over past months, but not so many tablets. Viewsonic’s ViewPad 10 was a nice introduction to dual-boot tablets, but at US$ 400 it was a bit overpriced. Well there’s finally a dual-boot tablet with the right specs, the right price, and comes straight out of Shenzhen to boot.

During our weekly trips to the grey market this weekend, we got our hands on the Hero H2000 (or Othello), a capacitive touchscreen smartphone with a price just as smart. It only took us a few minutes to decide that this was a phone worth having a look at, and we’ll have the full hands-on review for you in the next few days!
A few weeks back we did a hands-on review of the Ouku Tab, a low-cost tablet from Lightinthebox.com. To thank us, they have decided to let us pick one lucky reader to be the recipient of a COMPLETELY FREE OUKU TAB! All you’ve got to do is

With the release of the Motorola Xoom and Android 3.0 Honeycomb, manufacturers in China are just itching to make Honeycomb tablets of their own. Unfortunately, as the guys over at Android OS Tablets explain, it may be a long wait. In the mean time, manufacturers are still pumping out some pretty awesome Android 2.X tablets like this 10-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab clone.

Hey everyone! First off I just want to apologize for the lack of updates last week. I was in The Netherlands for the week and surprisingly found myself disconnected. Don’t feel too bad for me though, I had a great time and saw something my fellow Android lovers will appreciate.

Back in December we told you about the 7-inch Wopad tablet that was a glimpse at “The Next Generation” of Shanzhai tablets. Well the guys over at GizChina have brought news of the latest 10-inch Wopad to hit the market.

The Chinese Company Raynova has burst on to the scene with it’s latest 7-inch tablet the RAY 1. One of the coolest things about the RAY 1 is that Raynova has designed it’s own “Chinese friendly” UI to rival that of the Meizu M9. With a 1Ghz Freescale processor, 512 MB of RAM, and a capacitive touchscreen, the RAY 1 is more than worth it’s ridiculously low price tag.

This awesome looks like 8-inch tablet was spotted in Shenzhen over the weekend. It’s stocked with a 1.2Ghz Samsung S5PV210 ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 256MB of RAM, and 8GB of on-board storage. Sadly the prototype only got a resistive touchscreen with an 800 x 600 resolution. According to the manufacturer, the production version of this tablet will come with a capacitive screen *fingers crossed*. The tablet also comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, an HDMI out port, 1080p video playback capabilities, and runs on Google’s Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS. No word on the name of this bad boy yet, but if I had to guess I doubt it’ll be anything unique. Unfortunately no word on the price either, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do.
