For those serious Android and Google fans out there like myself, there’s really only one option when buying a new phone, and that’s Google’s own Samsung Nexus S. If you’ve been following Gadgets Republic a while you’ll have seen me profess my obsession with Anroid, but I never mentioned that I personally own the Samsung Nexus S. If I were allowed to use only one word to describe my feelings for the device, it would be LOVE. Shanzhai developers have finally gotten around to making a knockoff, but the question remains….have they done the original justice?

We’ve all heard of the Apple Peel 520 and it’s ability to turn the latest generation iPod Touch in to an iPhone 4. Well the guys over at the Shanghaiist have found a sweet knockoff of the Apple Peel that not only has the Peel 520′s transforming abilities, but adds triple SIM card compatibility as well. Personally, I’m not sure what the obsession with multi-SIM compatible phones are but it’s still a pretty cool feature.

The Shanzhai developers in Shenzhen are known for creating some pretty excellent looking HTC knockoffs, but Windows Phone 7 has never gotten any love. Well with this latest HTC HD7 knockoff they’ve created a Windows Phone 7 look-a-like UI for the Windows 6.5 operating system it actually runs on. It may only look like a WP7 phone, but under the hood it sure is built like one.

Remember that DIY iPod Nano some guy made in China? The guys at GizChina got their hands-on a sweet nano version of the iPhone 4. Now this isn’t the rumored budget iPhone we’ve been hearing about, but it still is a pretty awesome knockoff. Craziest thing is that this little gem will only run you about RMB380 (~US$ 58), and that’s with only a tad bit of bargaining.

With the release of the Motorola Xoom and Android 3.0 Honeycomb, manufacturers in China are just itching to make Honeycomb tablets of their own. Unfortunately, as the guys over at Android OS Tablets explain, it may be a long wait. In the mean time, manufacturers are still pumping out some pretty awesome Android 2.X tablets like this 10-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab clone.

It seems that there’s a new development in China’s never ending plight to clone everything they set their eyes on. If you look closely at they’re newly “developed” Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter you’ll notice that the inspiration comes from the American F-22 Raptor stealth fighter. Unlike the Shenyang J-15 Flying Shark — the copy of the Russion Sukhoi SU-33 — the J-20 is larger and therefore most likely less agile than it’s genuine counterpart. I just hope, for the pilot’s sake, that they aren’t cutting costs on their Shanzhai weaponry doesn’t as they do with their tablets and smartphones.

Although other smartphones are gaining popularity in China, the iPhone 4 hasn’t lost any steam. Good news for iPhone clones. They’re flying out of Shenzhen faster than Husain Bolt on steroids…and they’re better than ever. Introducing the CiPhone Pro, the latest decent attempt at a shanzhai iPhone 4. We’ve been watching this one for a few weeks, and can now finally bring you its full specs.
Introuducing the DroiPad, Shenzhen’s latest iPad clone. That’s right, DroiPad. It seems that Chinese manufacturers have gotten sick of the million other names they’ve been naming their Shanzhai iProducts (aPad, HiPad, etc) and have begun a new trend. The creators of the DroiPad also added a bit of a twist to their tablet.
The F10 smartphone is even more proof that Chinese Shanzhai phone manufacturers aren’t scared of anyone. In this case, it’s Sony Ericsson who’s getting shown the middle-finger by the boys and girls in Shenzhen.

Over the past year or so manufacturers in Shenzhen have put together some pretty terrible iPad clones. Thankfully they’ve realized the error of their ways and are beginning to put together some solid Tablets. We’ve come across one Tablet that has a real chance of going toe to toe with the iPad in the ring. Strange thing is…unlike most Shanzhai tablets, it runs Windows 7.
