This week in ZenithKnight’s DigiWars, we’ve decided to translate a comic that’s pretty relevant to the times. It’s a commentary on Facebook’s looming return to the Chinese mainland and what the outcome of this return may be. Could a Facebook collaboration with any Chinese company actually have a positive result?

After Mark Zuckerberg’s visit to Beijing back in December, rumors began to fly of the possible return of Facebook to China. Certain things have come to light and it seems the rumors are true, but the question now is, who will the social networking giant partner up with this go around?

Almost out of nowhere, the number of Chinese Facebook users has more than doubled in the last month! This sharp increase in users has been linked to Mark Zuckerberg’s visit to Beijing in December. His visit created a huge buzz over the possibilities of Facebook making it’s full-on entry in to the Chinese market. It isn’t the fact that the increase happened in the first place that’s weird. What IS weird is when the increased happened.

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s Founder/CEO and Time Magazine’s newly crowned Person of the Year has just been spotted at the head offices of Baidu in Beijing, China. Robin Li (founder of Baidu) gave Mark and his girlfriend Priscilla Chan a tour of the building, where these photos were snapped. The social networking pioneer has spoken a few times this year about formulating plans to bring the world’s most popular social networking site to the the country with the world’s largest population of online users. This meeting was so highly confidential that even Baidu’s Head of PR didn’t know about the visit ahead of time.
